Massive special thanks to my Singaporean friend NachoPizza for joining me in this epic summoning session.
Ritual
This, for me, is a very unusual ritual because it doesn't 100% involve something in-game and it uses a lot more real-life items than one would probably expect.
First and foremost, my brother and I cleaned our room before the Chinese New Year. After all, miHoYo is a Chinese company and I want to respect this good part of Chinese culture.
Second, I showered this morning because ZealsAmbitions is known for showering before his videos. Yes, I'm guilty of plagiarism.
Third, I did a photoshoot of myself in what I call a "Budget Venti" cosplay...even though I only used ordinary unmodified clothes in my home.
Fourth, before recording, I prepared the following items:
- Green bow
- Dark green jacket to resemble Venti (and my Author Avatar)
- +1 merged Guinivere in Fire Emblem Heroes, also voiced by Erika Harlacher
- KFC utensils ('cause our KFC ran out of buckets)
- Starbucks Venti cup which I got with my English teaching salary
Background
During the Zhongli Event Wish, I spent as many Intertwined Fates as I could to get Geo Daddy...only to be disappointed by Mona.
I pulled a bit from Albedo's, Ganyu's, and Xiao's Event Wishes to get constellations and inch closer to pity until I hit 76.
I forgot to mention this in the video, but I said, for every 1x pull that isn't Venti, I should do 10 push-ups, meaning, in a worst-case scenario, I'd have to do 130.
Yes, I did 1x pulls because I wanted to save for Rosaria.
Little did I know...I got Venti in just ONE PULL.
What About NachoPizza?
We started wishing at the same time and he got Noelle when I got Venti. Eh, it wasn't surprising since he recently got Hu Tao and he showed me a screenshot of him having 23 Intertwined Fates.
While I tested out Venti, he expressed disappointment upon getting his third Noelle (first being the guaranteed one given to all players) and The Flute. I honestly thought he wasn't gonna be as lucky as me.
...Until he sent me a screenshot out of nowhere showing off his own Venti. LET'S GOOO!!!
The thing about NachoPizza is his friends often get video game items that he wants, implying to me that his wishes make his friends lucky. For example, one of his friends got Keqing before he did.
I figured my ritual would help my wishes rub off on him, as well as his presence making his wishes rub off on me.
It just so happens, we want the same thing for each other.
All that's left after Rosaria is Ganyu who we both really like. Every time I send Nacho something Ganyu-related, he'd reply, "Cocogoat!"
