I'll Move Into a New House Soon!

Unless otherwise specified, all pictures are screenshots from The Sims 4 based on my imagination. For privacy purposes, they may differ from the final product.

Due to The Sims 4 taking a while to update (sorry, I forgor) and I'm starting my English classes much earlier than before, I intentionally published this with few images. I'll update this post once I get the opportunity.

A rough draft of what I think my house will look like.
I'm still not used to the bajillion build tools in The Sims 4.
The size of the actual house and furniture may vary.

This post was made with permission from Mom, Dad, and Big Brother.
I asked for permission because sharing this news may be considered sensitive because of the naturally large amount of money involved.

To start off, I'm sick of living in this house.
I don't like bringing my equipment (laptop, charger, mouse, mouse pad, water jug, etc.) back and forth between our family store and our bunk bed which I have to climb. Not that it's heavy but because it's either risky to carry them all at the same time or it costs a lot of time to take multiple round trips to carry smaller groups of things at a time especially given how narrow yet busy our corridors are.
My younger brother and I share a room and we're both VERY loud at unpredictable times: me when I'm teaching English or recording videos and my brother when he's having ROTC.

Lucky for me, my big brother is an interior designer and engineer so, through the company he owns, he offered to have a new house constructed for the family...well, mostly for me.

Why I Need a New House

Being a chaotic neutral INTP, I greatly value independence—I want to mostly make my own decisions without being bound by too many of others' rules.
This is mainly motivated by me being lazy to stay in the store even if I do it anyway out of courtesy to Mom. There are things I want to do inside the house too, including cleaning and making videos.

Speaking of making videos, I usually do it after midnight since my English-teaching company does not allow anyone to teach English past midnight—probably so their customer support team can rest. Also, I immediately work in the store when I wake up and only leave at 7:30 PM to prepare for my 8:00 PM classes. It's REALLY hard for me to wake up early.

I often speak loudly and clearly. While teaching, this helps students understand each word more clearly especially if they're not used to speaking English yet. On YouTube, I mainly do it to express strong emotions...mostly because it's commonly done by YouTube gamers but also because I got used to such strong reactions in anime, Western cartoons, and MandJTV. It keeps viewers engaged.
But obviously, this will kill the ears of any people physically near me.

In a room that is all mine, I am fully responsible for organizing everything in it.
In our current bedroom, the only space that is truly mine aside from the drawers and bottom layer of the wardrobe is the top of my bunk bed. The vast majority of our current bedroom contains my brother's things...and he does not take cleaning this room seriously.

When I'm all alone in the house, I can clean the whole place since it'll technically be my turf.
And since Mom and Dad cleaned up the place after construction, it'll be a whole lot easier to regularly maintain than cleaning up a house that has been left dirty for years.

The Catch

No, not the Genshin Impact weapon.

The plans are still vague (Mom is not as effective at detailed long-term planning as I am and gets sick of my obsession with it) but last I heard, she wants to stay in my house for a month or so to observe how I take care of myself and maintain the house.
Big Brother originally intended the four of us (me, Dad, Mom, and my younger brother) to live in this house but since my younger brother raged at Mom for repeatedly attempting to discuss this topic, I foresee Mom and Dad permanently moving in simply because this is their "rightful place".

Dad, in particular, is quite annoying because of how much of a traditionalist Filipino he is: that children should take care of their parents starting when they reach their 20s. I can't stand his speculative conversations of me basically being his caretaker in addition to being an insanely rich man with a car and funds for studying abroad.
Sorry, but I refuse to be a caretaker. #1, it will eat up a lot of my budget and schedule especially given that Dad is barely capable of moving even now; #2, I dislike the way he talks to me in everyday situations: always judging whatever I say/do, bossing me around, and freaking out over small mistakes like they're the end of the world. I don't see him as one who is open to my ideas; it's either his way or the highway.

As such, I may still have to play my schedule around my parents. I still cannot be loud at night during my YouTube videos so I may consider doing them in the daytime instead.
I'll have to set aside large portions of my budget for their food and medicines.
Well, at least I don't have to man a store, I guess...

House Features

It's a small lot where my maternal grandparents used to live before they died. The house was so old and beaten up by the rain that Big Brother had it demolished for the construction of my new turf to begin.
While it's still likely to suffer from the same narrow corridor problems as my current house, they won't be as bad since, like I said, I may be alone in the house much more often than now.

Bedrooms

My Bedroom

Since this is my room, I allowed Big Brother to choose two colors of my choice: green and blue, my top 2 favorite colors. I chose blue to be my background since I'll more likely wear green than blue in my videos. Green is mostly just there to look good since it'll be blocked off by my future bed and there are two other bedrooms with green.

For now, it's just a single mattress because I will need a place to sleep properly.

Because of my specialized work, naturally, my room should be the most special in the house.
In the future, the main feature will be like a loft bed...with only the top half. The bottom half is instead my workstation.

The Sims 4, unfortunately, is not even close to what Big Brother and I agreed upon. It's just a simple study table. The actual workstation has a narrow "passageway" for me to change my clothes.
The Instagram video looks like it's designed to have a TV but as a PC gamer, I don't need one in my room. Perhaps this is where my study table will be.
Speaking of my study table, both of my current workstations provide little legroom since I have to deal with wires in my way: Mom has a plastic sealer in the way while I have to put my AC adapter (charger) right in front of my legs while sitting with crossed legs on my bed.

Of course, green isn't the only LunaticTactician motif here. I'll add more as I get more money to Treasure-Hoard for real-life decorations and props, but for now, enjoy more of DuoDraconis's models including some Mondstadt Talent Level-Up Materials (I use Teachings of Freedom), a Pyro Vision, and a Silver Sword. (I'm actually a polearm wielder but in real life, I can somewhat use swords too.)

Parents' Room

Big Brother thought of assigning the room nearest to the bathroom to my parents since they're almost 60 years old. Genius.

Like my room, though, it will only contain a mattress for now.

Its colors, green and peach, were chosen courtesy of Klee my niece.

Study Room

This was originally going to be a bedroom for my younger brother but due to him being unenthusiastic about the idea of my new house and raging at Mom for her persistent attempts at discussing the topic, we chose to make it a study room instead to separate our work area from our rest areas. After all, Noxy, CEO of Hypixel Studios, made some work-from-home tips including not using the bedroom.
I was looking forward to seeing my younger brother's choice of aesthetics (I know he likes black) but the rest of us said screw it—we're using Nahida's my niece's color choices on this room as well.

I'm not currently sure why we're putting 2 tables together to form an L-shape but since I'm planning to work at 5CA as a gaming support agent, I'm gonna need a second monitor. A single table would have its space "eaten" and prevent Mom from working at the same time.

Main Room (Living + Dining Room and Kitchen)

When you have little space to work with, you gotta lump room archetypes together.

Because the couch is right in front of all the kitchen stuff, I can, for example, easily and passively monitor my cooking while chilling on a soft surface. I don't have to take a lot of steps either to wash my hands when, for example, I get cheese powder on my hands while eating junk food.
But the couch is honestly mainly for my parents--they watch K-dramas (mostly Mom) or action movies/news/sports/tech showcases/war documentaries (Dad) while I would have little use for a TV.

Instead, I'd probably mainly use the main room for indoor exercise. I can simply get the couch out of the way so I can use the full range of my movement while enjoying a gaming video playing on the TV.

As a funny side note, my sink's model number is SUS 304. Considering the cultural phenomenon that was Among Us, it gives me a source of laughter even though I rarely laugh at things.

Bathroom

Overall, I'm very impressed with the bathroom. The shower area is very hotel-like with a heater, an overhead shower, a hand-held shower, and a faucet. The problem is...its model is also SUS 304, making me crack up even more. (Click/tap the picture to take a closer look.)
The toilet's flush is fairly strong given how, lately, I've been pooping ENORMOUS poops no matter how hard I try to maintain my digestive system with bananas, probiotics, and water.

"Backyard"

I'm not quite sure what we'll do here but Mom intends this place to be where we prepare food ingredients, i.e. kneading, mashing, slicing, and whatever fancy-schmancy cooking words. She wants to minimize the smell of food in the main room and ESPECIALLY in the bedrooms.

Other than this, I might use this place for some...literally dirty work like cleaning dusty furniture and arts and crafts.

Roof Deck

I'm surprised they added this since I only saw one floor in the floor plans that were shown to me. We're planning to add outdoor furniture here but it's low-priority for now since utility is more important than aesthetics and comfort.
Only my younger brother regularly uses the roof deck at our own home now. As such, I think our new roof deck will not see much use from Mom and Dad either. Maybe I can use it to practice boxing while Mom and Dad are roaming to and fro.
