RIP Muscles (Coach G-Force Part 7)

Day 13

This day (January 2, 2019) was the day I checked out of the hotel at 12 noon and immediately went home. As with other faraway trips from home, I felt tired upon arriving. (I also stayed up late at night grinding up my Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones characters.)

Mom then received an unexpected text message from Coach G-Force, saying "I'm available today. Wanna train?" in Filipino.
Despite my tiredness, I hastily replied "Yes" because I knew school would start on January 5, and I refuse to train in the middle of study time.

Mom wanted me to drive to the mall again, but Dad didn't want to, but he reluctantly let me drive anyway, with him guiding me again because I've had some BAD DRIVING moments a few days ago.
But I drove good this time, he said. (And Ivann didn't scream "Jeez Toni! You drive like a B-word!")

I reluctantly accepted another mostly-sparring round from Coach G-Force upon arriving. I wanted to test how ready I was for battle even though I was tired.
This time, I kept score for both combatants. Each clean hit gives 1 point. (I forgot to count hits that didn't completely go through; those should be 0.5 points for exploiting a lack of defense.)

For Round 1, I experimented with the strategy of pummeling or faking punches on the abs, but actually waiting for an opportunity to get a clean hit on the head, since I knew Coach G-Force knew that I like hitting the abs.
But he was VERY protective of the head, despite my attack patterns.
I think I still scored a punch to the side of the head, though.
On the other hand, I was too tired (and still mildly infected) to defend properly against punches aimed at my own abs.
In the end, Round 1's score was 3-2 in favor of me (plus 0.5 on both sides for "partial" punches that I actually counted).
(I wonder why scoring in boxing and MMA depends on the judges' opinions? Oh well, I prefer the objectivity of scoring by successful hits in karate competitions.)

Round 2 wasn't as good, but I still got a score of 3-2 in favor of me.

Boulder then challenged me to a Round 3, replacing Coach G-Force after a quick discussion with him.
I got a 2-0 (PERFECT!), where he quit after 1 minute, right after I hit him on the abs. And those are big abs.
He's honestly not as fast as I thought he would be.

Round 4 is where I got super tired and much less able to properly defend myself. My elbows felt sloppy and didn't react fast enough to block hits to the abs.
Each time I tried to pummel in order to forcefully break Coach G-Force's defense, it's like I was killing myself because I was running short on breath and the infection was acting up.
But I still got a power-punch to the chest while Coach G-Force was taunting.
The score was 3-3.

In total, the score was:
LunaticTactician: 11
Gold's Gym: 7

Too bad I wasn't able to knock anyone out like I promised, but I was tired and infected, so I couldn't fight at my full potential.
If I had my full potential, I would have turned my fists into armorslayers. (But armor-slaying costs a lot of stamina, so I'd only do it on the last round.)

I think we had regular workouts afterwards, but I don't remember what happened. I think my abs got rekt afterwards.

Dad drove us back home--he didn't want me to drive again. (Watch the glob-dang car!)

Day 14

This was a rapid-fire, all-mittwork day with 8 rounds.

Not much happened on this day, and I'm feeling lazy, so I'll just quickly list the highlights:

  • Abs and legs got sore due to abs workouts and constant leg movements/strafing on last sparring
  • My hitting occasionally got slightly clumsy and off-target, so I often hit the corners of the mitts (not the centers) and knocked them off 3 times
  • My power and speed were mostly consistent throughout all rounds
  • Coach G-Force commented to the other trainers (about 5 were watching at the same time) that I'm easily capable and willing to do long, complicated combos while other trainees struggle
  • On shadowboxing, I got distracted by a TV show showing BAD DRIVERS crashing into other vehicles, but punched faster as a result

Day 15

Coach G-Force looked like he was about to finish training someone else, so I sat on a stationary bike while playing Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones.
In the middle of singlehandedly wiping out hordes of revenants (zombies) at the Tower of Valni, I got called by Coach G-Force out of nowhere. "Wanna train with me right now?" he said.

Coach G-Force and a woman who I will give the fake name Ms. Gemmy (I'm out of ideas) were in the group exercise room in Gold's Gym--a long room spanning the entire length of the main workout area with about 2/3 of the width. Cones were placed across the length of the room, in the middle.

We were tasked to do running exercises where we touch a cone near the side of the room opposite to our original position (or do a burpee near the cone).
I sprinted faster than both of them, but quickly ran out of stamina to the point where I only jogged from cone to cone. We were given rest breaks in between each running drill, though, so I quickly regained my ability to sprint.
Coach G-Force was urging Ms. Gemmy to run faster, but she said, "I can't, I'm too tired! This guy is too fast!" She didn't recover much from the rest breaks.

After running, Ms. Gemmy disappeared, but Coach G-Force and I did a LOT of exercises involving the arms, including bicep curls and push-ups.

The only "boxing" we did was rapidly punching the air with uppercuts, jabs, and crosses.

Unsurprisingly, the next day, my arms were super sore, but I was extra satisfied because it let me know I worked extra hard.
Then again, I can't play action games with sore arms. I tried playing modded Minecraft, but I often felt pain in the arms in times where I needed to react quickly, and ended up dying multiple times.

(To be continued; I got lazy)

Edit: One of the well-known UPOU students said she works out in the same Gold's Gym branch as I do and she saw me multiple times including this day, but I never see her... (Or I just don't pay attention and I focus on getting strong)
I'm gonna try and talk to her after workout next time... Fwahahahaha!

Non-Coach G-Force workout, but still unique

I don't know how or why, but I was extra motivated to work out, and I focused specifically on cardio.

After walking to Gold's Gym (I don't like jogging on city streets because of the number of people I have to evade), I had a 10-minute jog on the treadmill while wearing my bags, which included my tablet and boxing equipment (in case Coach G-Force appears out of nowhere, but he didn't). This is a very lightweight "simulation" of the ruck exercise done in the military.

I then jogged 5 minutes while holding a 5 lb (~2.26 kg) dumbbell on my right hand to simulate carrying a weapon--according to Wikipedia, a longsword weighs approximately 2.2 to 3.3 lb, but I couldn't find a weight between 2 lb and 5 lb. I may be a fistfighter, but I want to be adaptable to other weapons.
My right arm hurt a lot after about 3 minutes of jogging, but I didn't pause and just kept going.
